is bristol losing its touch???
Has anyone else been down to the track this weekend? Most race weeks are filled with crazy people that are either drunk or just idiots. Well i have noticed as i was at the track today that the campgrounds and parking areas are not even near full. A lot of people want to blame it on either the economy or the inconsistency of the weather here in march. I however, being the "expert" that i am believe that it is because of the way they resurfaced the track this last time. The new track surfacing and the strictness of NASCAR's rules has made racing really boring. Fans just don't want to pay the same or a higher price to see racing that is nothing like they saw 10 years ago. The race track likes to say that all the races are sold out, I know from an inside source however that this is not the case at all. The race track employees are able to take as many free tickets as they need for their family and friends once ticket sales calm down. If every ticket has been "sold" or given away the race track can say it was sold out. But when you go to the track and look in the stands and campgrounds/parking lots, you can clearly see that it isn't. People just don't want to pay for something that isn't worth the price anymore.
